iForce was a project that was started by Hayden Kirk (founder of Mobile PC) in early 2007. The site was made as an alternative to imageshack. With New Zealands bandwidth and data problems, having a local image hosting site made sense.

The site was hosted at Mobile PC for the first year or so. It became very popular, so popular in fact it had to be moved. Joe took up the hosting on his 100mbit connection for around 12 months.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, iForce was forced back to Mobile PC early 2009. Once we were hosting iForce again, we realised how popular the site was. It was impossible to host iForce ourselves. Deathr0w stepped up and has hosted iForce on a 100mbit link until April 2010.

Since April 2010, iForce has been hosted on a dedicated box donated by Jay. DTS have taken on the hosting roll, letting us use their data centre in Upper Hutt.

The current specs of the donated box are: 2x Xeon 3GHz, 3x36GB SCSI 10k rpm (OS), 3x146GB SCSI 10k RPM (data), Dual PSU, 4GB memory. The server runs Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise donated by Mobile PC.
